About Pamela
I grew up in upstate New York with dreams of being an actor. However, following my first job as an interpreter for New Windsor Cantonment, I realized I preferred sharing history and knowledge as myself. After three years of historic interpretation, I joined the Student Conservation Association and moved to Utah to work for Arches National Park.Â
That winter I moved to Finland where I worked as an au pair for two wonderful girls. While in Finland, I was introduced to mushing through a friend of the family. Shortly after learning about the world of mushing, the SCA posted a position as an intern in the Denali National Park kennels. I moved to Alaska in the summer of 2018, where I joined the small team caring for the ~34 sled dog rangers.
I also met and started dating my future husband, Kevin. With him, I traveled the world, learned new skills and bought property near Soldotna, Alaska for our future home. In May of 2021, we adopted our second dog, Khumba, and moved to our new home to begin construction on our first house.
